How to set up email forwarding to one email address

SmarterMail offers a way to have email to addresses @YourHostedDomainName.com forwarded to outside email addresses while continuing to receive the emails in your @yourdomain.com inbox (you can also set emails to be deleted after forwarding).

 
To set up email forwarding as the Primary Domain Administrator in the SmarterMail interface:
  1. Log in to the DiscountASP.NET Control Panel.
  2. Click the "SmarterMail Manager" link on the left side.
  3. Click the "SmarterMail Management Login as Primary Admin" link. You will be logged in as the Primary Domain Administrator.
  4. Click the "Domain Settings" link in the top navigation menu (gear with globe).
  5. Click "Accounts".
  6. Click on the user.
  7. Under Forwarding, enter the email address you want incoming mail for this user forwarded to in the "Forwarding Address" field. If you want the email to stay in the user's webmail inbox, do not switch on "Delete messages when forwarded". If you simply want to route all mail to this outside email address and you do not need a copy kept on our server, turn the switch on.
  8. Click on the "Save" button at top.

 

You can also set up forwarding by logging in as a regular user. You do not need to be the Primary Domain Administrator to modify your own personal forwarding settings:

  1. Log in to the DiscountASP.NET Control Panel.
  2. Click the "SmarterMail Manager" link on the left side.
  3. Click the link next to "SmarterMail Web Interface." You will be taken to the webmail login page. (You can bypass the first two steps by entering "http://webmail.YourHostedDomainName.com" (without the double quotes) in a web browser.)
  4. Click the "Settings" link in the top navigation menu (gear).
  5. Click "Account".
  6. Under Forwarding, enter the email address you want incoming mail for this user forwarded to in the "Forwarding Address" field. If you want the email to stay in the user's webmail inbox, do not switch on "Delete messages when forwarded". If you simply want to route all mail to this outside email address and you do not need a copy kept on our server, turn the switch on.
  7. Click on the "Save" button at top.
