How to adjust individual user quotas in SmarterMail

If your Primary Domain Administrator account is receiving emails notifying you that a user has exceeded their quota and is no longer able to receive email, you can adjust the quotas to allocate more space to the user whose mailbox is full (if you have free email disk space on your domain).

Note that SmarterMail will allow you to set user quotas that total more than the disk space you have purchased. When setting user quotas, make sure that you haven't exceeded the amount of space available. See this Knowledge Base article for information on how to determine how much email disk space you have allotted to your domain.

To increase individual user quotas:
  1. Log in to the DiscountASP.NET Control Panel.
  2. Click the "SmarterMail Management" link on the left.
  3. Click the "SmarterMail Management Login as Primary Admin" link. You will be logged in as the Primary Domain Administrator.
  4. Click the "Domain Settings" link in the top navigation menu (gear with globe).
  5. Click "Accounts"
  6. Click on the user.
  7. Adjust the "Mailbox Size Limit," bearing in mind how much disk space you have available to your domain. (Ignore the "Unlimited" upper limit. As noted above, SmarterMail allows you to set user quotas higher than the available disk space.)
  8. Click on the "Save" button.

If you would like to add more e-mail disk space to your account:

  1. Log in to the DiscountASP.NET Control Panel.
  2. Click the "Order Addons" link on the left.
  3. Scroll down to "Additional Email Space." Click "Order Email Space: Click Here."
  4. Select the amount of space you wish to add from the dropdown on the left. Then click the "Order More Email Disk Space" button. Note that you will not immediately see the increase in disk space. Our billing department will provision your disk space within 24 hours.
