MS SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) Manager - General Information

The following pertains to the "MS SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) Manager" section of Control Panel.

The "MS SQL Server Reporting Service Information" section contains the default username, root path and report server URL.

MS SQL Server Reporting Service is set up with a default username that cannot be changed or deleted. Up to 25 additional users can be added in the "SSRS Report Users" section. Usernames must be from 4 to 10 characters in length and can contain only lowercase, alpha-numeric characters.

Click "Edit" to change the password for a specific user. To change a username, first delete the user, then recreate it with the desired changes.

How to Deploy Reports to SQL Reporting Service Server

There are two ways to upload your report to DiscountASP.NET Reporting Services Server:

Use the built-in upload function of the Report Manager
- Login to the report Interface (can be found in Control Panel RS Manager)
- Navigate to the reports folder
- Use the Upload Report Feature
Use Report Builder
- Open Report Builder
  - Click on the Start button on the top right and choose Publish Report Parts
  - Input your report server [https://URL/ReportServer], where URL is the Report Server URL value in the control panel
  - Click on the Start button go to Save and navigate to the Reports folder and save the report file

Using the SQL Reporting Services Report Builder Feature

Report Builder is a client-side application that you can use to create and design ad hoc reports. Using Report Builder, you can select data and design reports without the use of any any complex programming languages. You simply need to be familiar with the business model of your data.

Creating Additional Users for Reporting Service

You can create up to 25 additional users for reporting service, for a total of 26.

To create additional users and configure access settings:

Log in to your DiscountASP.NET Control Panel.
Go to the Reporting Service Manager to create additional users.
Log on to the Reporting Service Web Interface (Reporting Service URL) with the primary user.
Go to the /[account_username]/Reports folder.
Click "Folder Settings" (Top Navigation).
Click "Security Link" (Left Navigation).
Click "New Role Assignment" and enter the same Reporting Service user name you created in the DiscountASP.NET Control Panel.
Click Edit next to the newly created additional user.
Select the roles you wish to assign this user.
Click OK.
