How to verify/enable SMTP authentication in Windows Live Mail
- Log in to Windows Live Mail.
- Go to Tools/Accounts.
- Highlight the target profile and click Properties.
- This will open the Properties window and click on the Servers tab.
- Enter a check next to My server requires authentication.
- Click on the Settings... button.
- Choose Log on using, and enter the full email address and password for the pop account you are accessing.
