How to configure an email account on the Apple iPhone

These settings have been tested and verified for the Apple iPhone.

POP Setup
  • Click on the Home button
  • Go to Settings
  • Click on Mail
  • Click Add new mail
  • Choose Other
  • Click the POP tab
  • Enter your name, email address, and description of the profile
Incoming mail server
  • Host Name: pop3.YourHostedDomainName.com
  • User Name: enter the full email address of the pop account you are accessing
  • Password: enter the password for that pop account
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  • Host Name: smtp.YourHostedDomainName.com
  • User Name: enter the full email address of the pop account you are accessing
  • Password: enter the password for the pop account
Click Save

Go to Settings and click on the POP account you have just created
Scroll down and select Advanced
Scroll down until you see Settings and insure that Authentication is set to "Password"

IMAP Setup
  • Click on the Home button
  • Go to Settings
  • Click on Mail
  • Click Add new mail
  • Choose Other
  • Click the IMAP tab
  • Enter your name, email address, and description of the profile
Incoming mail server
  • Host Name: imap.YourHostedDomainName.com
  • User Name: enter the full email address of the pop account you are accessing
  • Password: enter the password for that pop account
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  • Host Name: smtp.YourHostedDomainName.com
  • User Name: enter the full email address of the pop account you are accessing
  • Password: enter the password for the pop account
Click Save

Go to Settings and click on the IMAP account you have just created
Scroll down and select Advanced
Scroll down until you see Settings and insure that Authentication is set to "Password"

SMTP Authentication
  • Click on the email account you have just created
  • Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
  • Host Name: smtp.YourHostedDomainName.com
  • User Name: enter the full email address of the pop account you are accessing
  • Password: enter the password for that pop account
  • Scroll down and choose Advanced
  • In Settings choose "Password" Authentication
To view the subfolders in your inbox with IMAP
  • Go to Settings and click on Mail
  • Choose the IMAP account you created
  • Scroll down and choose Advanced
    • Scroll down until you see IMAP Path Prefix
    • Type: INBOX
      • Note: INBOX must be in all capital letters with no preceeding '/'
