How do I switch the default port for SQL 2005 client?

  1. Open the SQL Server Configuration Manager (Start -> Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration Tools -> SQL Server Configuration Manager)
  2. Expand the SQL Native Client Configuration
  3. Click on Client Protocols
  4. Right-Click TCP/IP and select Properties - change Default Port to alternative port.
We currently support connection through port 1433 & 14330.
